Three new wrappers for the California ABC license query system are added to PIRL: New ABC Applications, New ABC Issued Licenses and ABC Licenses Status Change. The wrappers access the California ABC system twice daily to update Telesis ABC databases for San Diego County. Go to: Databases page in the Prevention Information Resource Library

New Brochure: Since 1996, the Responsible Hospitality Coalition, under contract with the County of San Diego, Health and Human Services, Alcohol and Drug Services (ADS), has collected 'Place of Last Drink' (POLD) surveys from participants enrolled in licensed Driving Under the Influence Programs (DUIP) in the county. The Brochure (pdf) includes findings from 3,616 surveys collected from July 1 through December 31, 2007.
Winter - Spring 2008
Major upgrades to the Prevention Information Resource Library: new videos, media stories and newsfeeds related to alcohol and drug abuse, are added. SWITRS collision locations are geocoded and analyzed.
Fall 2007
Major upgrades to the Prevention Information Resource Library: new and updated data downloads and query modules (ABC licenses, CHP collisions, POLD survey), interactive maps (RBSS and Social Host ordinances, BUDI and Marijuana) and charts.
March 2006
Ilya Zaslavsky, Ph.D, presented progress report on PIRL mapping applications at NIDA/AAG conference in Chicago. The system is being developed in collaboration with researchers from San Diego Supercomputer Center, UCSD, who are involved in several large cyberinfrastructure projects funded by NSF and NIH, which serve as a model for our system.
